HTFC was retained to assist the Peguis First Nation Negotiation Team in the negotiation, assessment and detailed valuation of the First Nation’s St. Peter’s Surrender Claim and Treaty Land Entitlement claim.

HTFC provided expert technical advice and critical review of economic loss assessments and land appraisals and conducted detailed analyses and valuations of historic land and resource use. HTFC participated in the First Nation’s technical review and drafting of the Treaty Land Entitlement Settlement Agreement, and provided advice and assistance in the negotiated settlement including land valuation and land selection criteria. The firm also assisted Peguis with the analysis and identification of preliminary TLE land selections.

HTFC was responsible for the design and production of community newsletters and public displays. HTFC also helped with the production coordination of two videos. Representatives of HTFC assisted with presentation and explanation of claim history, negotiations, programs and claim settlement to the members of the First Nation.

HTFC continues to work with Peguis on Land Use Planning and Land Selections.
